Title: Improving Grade Six Pupils’ Reading Difficulty in English Through Remediation Using Fuller Technique.


Intro:

The Division of Mandaluyong has been implementing Reading Programs to address the needs of the learners: Friday is Reading Day, Drop Everything And Read (DEAR), Continuous Improvement Program in Reading, Remedial Reading, and Summer Reading Camp. Despite of all the programs implemented by the division and adopted by the school, still, there are learners left behind in terms of reading especially in English.

To improve the reading skills, DBYES has come up with a Remedial Reading program for slow readers. The program aims to enhance the ability of pupils to read English using the Fuller Technique.

Remedial classes were conducted everyday after class for two months. Each remedial teacher is assigned to have five pupils. Through daily log, pupils’ improvement is monitored. Their progress was observed over their everyday scores that are tabulated and interpreted.
